Research Organics, Inc. is an ISO 9001:2000 primary manufacturer and leading worldwide supplier of high purity biochemicals for use in molecular biology, diagnostics, cell culture, pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, life sciences and biotechnology.

Founded in 1953, Research Organics pioneered manufacture of zwitterionic biological buffers, and developed the HEPES buffer as an industry-standard, white, free-flowing powder that is colorless in solution. In the early 1980s, Research Organics built large-scale production facilities at its Cleveland , Ohio corporate headquarters for bulk manufacture of buffers and biochemicals. Since the 1990s, the company has continuously expanded plant and technical capabilities, adding large-scale process equipment and state-of-the-art facilities.

PRODUCTS AND CAPABILITIES

Research Organics supplies a broad product line that includes biological buffers, reagent biochemicals, molecular biology grade products, enzyme substrates, fluorescent compounds, amino acids and derivatives, ACS reagents, USP and FCC products, neurochemicals and plant tissue culture reagents.

A RESEARCH PIONEER

In the early 1950s, Dr. Marvin Sternfeld began a chemical operation in a small storeroom in Cleveland , Ohio to meet the needs of local researchers.

"We produced intermediates and addressed the state-of-the-art research at that time – studying the metabolism of food" recalled Dr. Sternfeld, 77, company founder.

"We went down the same pathways as the researcher. They told us what they needed, and for the most part it wasn't available, so we provided it."

And so Research Organics, Inc. was born, founded on a synergism that has fueled the company's growth into one of the world's leading primary producers of biological buffers and reagent biochemicals.

Today, Research Organics remains a privately-held, family-owned company that continues to do business the old fashioned way: listening to its customers and responding to those needs.
